Are the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 plus unlocked for use in the Philiippines?

Hello, is the Verizon iPhone 5s unlocked for use in the Philippines if I buy a local SIM card?  How about an iPhone 6 plus?  Thanks!

Yes, all Verizon iPhones from iPhone 5 and higher are unlocked at time of purchase. It will accept a foreign SIM.

I am going to Europe this summer. Right now I am leaning toward just getting the Verizon Global plan for $40. I can get reimbursed from work and I need to be able to have people dial my US number to get a hold of me with no international charges to the person calling me.

He is a reference I have been using. I may still go with local SIM and forward the calls. I do hear good things about the 3 network.
