100$ restock fee for Iphone 5?

So I bought an Iphone 5 from a verizon store... I decided it is extremely slow on LTE and my call quality is very bad. I went to return it and they said I had a 100$ restock fee(within my 14 days). No way was I paying that. 2nd option was for me to go back to my Iphone 4s and give my Iphone 5 to my son after I get a warranty replacement. I cant do that either or I will be charged 500$ for not keeping it on my account for 180 days. Does this seem right to you guys? This store even charged me 10$ to transfer my contacts. Very bad experience. Is this how all Verizon stores are?

Sounds to me like you weren't at a Corporate Verizon store, but at a retailer.

Corporate stores charge a $35 restocking fee for a phone. If you purchased from an authorized retailer, read the contract terms; it should be stated there. If you're unsure about corporate vs. authorized retailer, go to Store Locator on this site and it will show which is which in the tabs.

As I wrote in another post, if an affiliate store or a premium store, VZW has some say in their business. However, they can set their own prices and policies.  As for stores that are neither, Katie bar the door. I have seen posts on here where those stores sell used as new and charge outrageous fees to return a phone.....if you are allowed at all

Since there is a $500 fee within 180 days, I am not sure you can even move the phone to your sons number without being charged that $500

if your returning to Corprate its $35 but if you got it from 3rd party there is a chance that they are charging you the rest because they can no longer sell the phone as "new" thus why verizon charges a restocking fee
