iPhone 4 ear speaker quit working

I've had my iPhone 4 since Valentines Day, I love it!! But Friday night the ear speaker just quit! I can't hear anything when I'm on a call, sounds dead! The other person can hear me tho! Speaker phone works & ear buds work...this is how I'm talking on it! Took it to a Verizon store, guy called tech support & they had NO answers! Gave me a number for Apple. I'm wondering if I should just take it to the Apple Store & get a replacement...I'm also wondering if this is going to become an ongoing bug with this phone...I've waited so long for Verizon to offer the iPhone & I'm an all Apple girl, iPad/iPod touch/Mac Book....just kinda disappointed I got a bum iPhone :smileysad:

Did you wipe the phone and reinstall with itunes? Not likely going to fix it but something you can try that will take 10 mins

I've reset it....restored it....done all of the normal Apple fixes....still no sound at all coming from the ear speaker! Saw on another forum, there is a known bug with the headphone jack sensor being stuck "on". I'm taking it to Apple tomorrow & getting a replacement!

You can try inserting and removing the headphone jack a few times to see if that clears the problem.  It usually does.

I had the same problem, verizon sent me to Apple tech support and after trying all the fixes, they (apple) sent me a replacement phone. Hope the new one doesn't develpoe the same problem.

I tried the removing & inserting the headphones trick...actually a bunch of times, nothing!!! Didn't do anything but frustrate me more!! I've had some issues this week, but hopefully I will make it to the Apple Store tomorrow & get my replacement cell. I kinda figure this is one of those glitches/bugs all the techies were talking about cuz they rushed this phone out for verizon to sell!! If had any kind of patience, I would've waited til June for the iPhone 5! Oh well, lesson learned!!
