iOS 5.01 now available

Just installed the iOS 5.01 update on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2.

Right out of the gate, it gave me the international and roaming error (yes, Matilda, the phone, not the iPad). But a reprogramming (*228, I did option 1 and 2) handily solved that.

Then, in my messaging, it turned not all, but just a few, contact names into numbers only in the message list. However, every time I close and re-open the message app, more numbers have gone back to names. Now there is only one name still showing only a number. That one is being stubborn (harrumph, kinda like that perso....oh, never mind)...

One more little touch of weirdness...At first, the update seems to have killed the notification tones (except for the ringtones). Hmm, okay, reboot. That fixed it. Now, all is well, as far as I can tell.

Of course, the million dollar question is battery life. Won't know if there is improvement there for a while yet...

And I'm not Australian...:smileyvery-happy:

Have you had any luck with the battery, I haven't seen a difference :smileysad:

1pm my time.  Off charger at 7am, update at 9am over the air with no charger connected.  Still at 95% light use.  I think it's way too early to tell.

Off the charger at 4:30am CST, it's 2:35pm, I'm at 85% after moderate calls and some data use.

They may be on to something here, but I'll know for sure next week while at our shop... in the woods...where the signal is fair and consistent, but not real strong. Right now, I'm in a downtown area where signal is really good.
