On your my Verizon online account you can buy ringtones and manage them.

What if you want to make your ringtone a song that you already have on your IPhone? I can't find anywhere where there is an option to make it a ringtone???

Ringtones are completely different from Ringback tones.

RINGBACK tones are what your caller hears when they dial your number and are waiting for you to pick up or your voicemail to kick in.  They are managed online through your MyVerizon account.  The choices for ringback tones are limited to the ones available online through the Verizon store.  You can request specific tones, but you cannot make your own.

RINGTONES, that you hear when someone calls you and your phone "rings", are different.  You can take any mp3, clip 30 seconds or less of the song/file, and use it as a ringtone.  Check out phonezoo for uploading, clipping tools, and sending it to your phone (and it's all free).  There are also many, many that other users have created and made available.  They are sent to your phone as a text message, and you save the file as a ringtone when it arrives on your phone.

In settings, go to Sounds and then click on Ringtone. Assuming you have already created and synced ringtones to your iPhone (you can NOT use music directly from your iPhone that plays via the Music App as those have not been converted to be recognized as ringtones) then you would see any ringtones you synced in addition to the tones that came on the iPhone. You can also find out more info on how to use your features by looking at the user guide on your iPhone. It is located in the bookmarks in Safari.
