I went into a Verizon store a little over two weeks ago to inquire about having my i-phone 4S unlocked as I was moving to Brazil for seven months. I'd read on other blogs that Verizon would unlock your i-phone if you'd had it longer than 60 days, which I had. The Verizon rep pretty much told me I was crazy and that Verizon would never do that. Well, I'm in Brazil now and very disappointed to find out the Verizon store rep is an idiot. Can someone from Verizon please remedy this situation? Thanks very much.

Will anyone from Verizon be responding to this? It is a valid question based on information that all of us have seen at one point or another since the 4S was released.
Thank you!!

Did you try calling verizon and asking besides going into a store? This is a peer to peer forum but I have seen some customer service reps offer help at times so maybe one will come on and see you troubles. Mary

Thanks, Mary. I did not try to call customer service after speaking with the store rep as I trusted he knew Verizon's policy better than I. I am now in Brazil so I cannot call customer service. I will have to buy a new phone here and my three month old i-phone (which I bought because I was supposed to be able to use while I'm in Brazil) has been relegated to a glorified i-pod touch. Here is a link to Verizon's admitted policy to which I am referencing https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/748988#748988 .

Too bad if you had searched the forum before you left you would have found the info too as I am sure I have seen that asked and talked about here it can be done like you said if you had it at least 60 days. Mary
