I just received my new iPhone 4 last week and of course, am still trying to find my way around it. One thing, however, that I'm noticing is that when one of my closest friends text messages me from her phone to my iPhone, the message is somehow converted to Russian/gobbledygook. Here's an example:
Π2£@Δ9#
@$Hé¡@¡øΣ0öàà§A£øø¿¿¿pàg<f?üc$èA<f#00Δày
She has Verizon, and I've had Verizon for awhile ... her phone isn't that old and I never had any problems with her texts before switching to my iPhone. She mentioned her brother-in-law had the same problem when he got his iPhone and had to mess with the settings, but I've tried to do everything and still, it keeps happening. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Is your friend using any emoji apps? Not sure if that known issue applies to texts to/from other Verizon customers...

Thanks, kaebfly, for your reply.
Hello megedwards816,
Here's some information per Apple Support that will assist you with your issue. This may also occur if the sender of the message has a signature with symbols in it.
