Is there any way to speed up the prompts when using the regular iPhone voicemail when you dial in to check messages?
I'm not talking about visual voicemail on the iphone - that's something different.
But when you have to call in to check messages, the prompts are agonizingly slow, giving you the day and time of the message, as well as the entire phone number the message came from.
I don't need or want that information and want to turn it off. Just give me the message!
The regular Verizon voicemail prompts for every other phone gives you the option of getting fast prompts with minimal information.
Anyone know if that is possible with the iPhone voicemail system?
If not, hopefully Verizon will make that possible soon so I don't feel like throwing something across the room every time I have to use the call-in system.

Why bother dialing in? Just listen to it right on the phone. Phone>Voicemail>Select message to play.

If I'm not mistaken, and I could very well be, visual voicemail is an additional charge per month to use.

Hi tdbourquin,
I am sorry that there is not a way currently available to allow you to go directly to the played message after accessing your voicemail because the prompt asking you if you want to listen to your message on the iPhone. Your suggestion of allowing that to be possible in the future has been posted.
Thanks,

Retrieving messages using Visual Voicemail does not incur any charge as messages are accessed via data, which is included with the Data plan for the iPhone 4.

Thanks for the clarification. I turn off Messages on my iPhone since I have limited wi-fi & data--so the visible voice mails don't get downloaded (even though they would be free). Sure hope Verizon speeds of that painfully slow string of voicemail prompts.
