I sent this Verizon person a pm and let them know they are giving bad information. If they are going to post, I really think they should know what they are talking about.

An Verizon employ suggeted to someone to do this, thus I did it. I mean, their the best people to listen to? After all they sell this phone. What can I do now? Ask him how to put it together?
You've really got to be kidding. You must've had to pry that thing open without that tool. You ruined it

My friend ordered this tool off a foreign website a few months back. I used that to open the iPhone. It was quite easy to take apart. In don't think it's ruined it's just harder to put together, then it was to take apart. Thanks to the Verizon employee! Now I'll have to pay FULL retail if I want another phone.
iPhones are made to not be taken apart by anyone except Apple. That VZW rep who commented on here clearly thought the OP was talking about another phone, you should know you can't just do a battery pull on an iPhone.

Talking about another phone? This is the iPhone section dude.
Clearly. And any Verizon employee in their right mind would never have told someone to try to take the battery out of an iPhone. Read the other posts on here, you're very much not supposed to do that. The rep obviously thought they were in a different forum and didn't see that the OP had an iPhone.

Hello,
At this time VZ Support would like to retract the posting suggesting that you remove the battery from the iPhone. Attempting to do so will void the warranty and cause irreversible damage. While we strive to provide the most accurate and helpful information, at times we need to clarify what device the customer is using before providing a resolution. We apologize if this misinformation has lead you to believe that VZ support is not a reputable source for information. We feel strongly that we will regain your confidence in our ability to resolve issues.
Thank you.
