I would like to have verizon unlock my old iphone 4s that I upgrade to a 5C. In the past, with some of my previous models, I called Verizon support and they unlocked the phone. Since I will be many months abroad, I would like to know how to be able to contact Verizon for this support.

Unfortunately, Verizon WILL NOT unlock an iPhone 4S if it is not currently active on a Verizon line of service.

Very nice to be traveling abroad, Pkumpis! I can certainly understand needing a Global Phone while traveling. Are you still currently in the U.S.? The phone will need to be active on a current VZW account, and then you can reach out to Global Support at 800-711-8300 for assistance with unlocking it.
Thank you,

Hi Vanessa, thank you for your help, but the problem is that since I am out of the USA, in Brazil currently, when calling the number you provided I am instructed to call *611, and the call is ended. I can not call this number from outside the US, so what I need is a number that will respond with an operator or directly to the support service.
Thank you.

When upgrading, can the 'old' phone be unlocked prior to swapping for new phone, leaving the old phone unlocked and ultimately off the Verizon system?
