How to replace a stolen iPhone while abroad

I am currently studying abroad in the UK, and was using an unlocked Verizon iPhone 4s from a suspended line in order to use a UK provider's data and service.  Unfortunately, my phone was stolen and I have no hope of getting it back.

I still have the Verizon SIM card, so I was wondering if there is a way for Verizon to send me a new unlocked iPhone (I'd be willing to pay for a new one) for me to use until the end of my study abroad and still be able to use it in the US when I get back.  My only concern is about my suspended line, but my line is part of a family plan.

Contact your family, have them purchase it on your line. If you are not eligible for a discounted upgrade, you will have to pay full retail. Have your family send it to you.

Your best bet would be to get an iPhone 5 as they come unlocked for use in other countries from Verizon.

Does it matter that my line has been suspended?

I assume if it does, the account owner who would have to purchase your phone would be able to un-suspend it.
