What are some good brands of cases for the iphone? 

Can you use the regular iphone 4 cases for the 4s? I have heard some you can some you cant.

Like you said in your post. Some iPhone 4 cases will work, some might not. Guess you can call it gambling.

My iPhone 4S is on the way so.. I ordered me an OtterBox Reflex case for my phone. It's a 2 piece case and overall, the best case for iPhones, Droids, Tablets, etc. I got it for $31 with a 5 day shipping [used 2 coupon codes to get that discount - retail is $34.95 without coupons + s&h].

It's the best case in my opinion. If you drop it, it uses it's "Reflex Zones" to make the case bounce when it hits the surface. It also comes with a screen protector!

I prefer the Otterbox Commuter series of cases myself. Protected my Droids well and works well with my 4S. Works with 4 models, too.

OtterBox Reflex/Commuter = Same Protection.

Commuter = More Bulky.

Reflex = Less Bulky.

I thought about an Otter for my X i'm using the Leather holster another thing i like to use for my Droids is an Oakly Glasses bag i've got two a white one an a brown one. it keeps crap off the droids while there in my Pocket an are great for cleaning the Glass.    B33

There's a lot more iPhone case / covers then online. Love speck ones so pretty and hard though not waterproof. IPhone 4 ones fit iPhone4s. They have otterbox there as well.

I have the otterbox communter case on mine and like it a lot. Not too big or bulky like some can be but is supposed to provide superior protection.
