I purchased AppleCare when I purchased my iPhone, but I didn't purchase Verizon's Equipment Coverage. Verizon's offering me another chance to signup for it.
My question is, what would Verizon's Equipment Coverage give me that I don't have with AppleCare now? I'm just wondering if it's worth justifying the close to $10/month charge it'd be on my bill.
Thanks!

AppleCare does not cover lost or stolen equipment, nor does it cover accidental damage (water damage for example or you dropping the phone and shattering the screen). As far as it being worth it...depends on the individual. If the prospect of having to pay full retail if you do something to your phone that isn't covered under AppleCare is something that would be a problem for you then yes, it might be worth it to get the VZ coverage and pay the deductible. If you don't tend to have trouble with your devices being lost or stolen...and you are pretty careful with it then paying for insurance may prove to be money down the drain. It's a safety net. Only you know if you really need it to feel secure.

Thanks for the info! I've had two other iPhones in the past, and I haven't ever lost them or had damage done to them, so it might be overkill to go for Total Equipment Coverage. I also have anti-theft tracking on the iPhone, and I did purchase AppleCare, so I'm partially covered for some things. It's good to ponder over, and if I decide I need it, I'll signup before the end date. Excellent info!

May I ask you what you are using for Anti-Theft Protection on the iPhone? Is it an app?

I'm using both Find my iPhone and an app called Undercover. Gives me two layers of protection.

Now u can get the damage part with apple care for $50 defuctable but only 2 times for 2 yrs the TEC u can keep forever. I did both because so I can talk to apple after the first 3months. Minimum I like AppleCare. U can buy AppleCare without the damage within first yr but with damage u have to get it within 30 days .
