Under Safari settings you can block stuff. Just duct tape his zipper shut

For access via WiFi, you should look into OPENDNS. I use it and it's great and free. (You can choose to upgrade and pay for it but I find the free version perfect to fit my needs). What is really great about it is that even if the OPENDNS servers don't block something you think should be blocked, you can create your own blacklist of sites you want to block.
I am not familiar enough with the iPhone yet to know if you can somehow change the proxy settings on the iPhone when your out in the wild and connecting to the internet via 3G but I'm sure some one here will know, if not contact tech. support.
