You're welcome to apply and take phone calls.

When centers close, less people are available to take calls. Less people means longer hold times. Either learn self serve options or learn to appreciate those left taking care of high call volume every single day.

Unless you've done their job, you have zero grounds to complain. That attitude is why turnover is high.

I've not had this issue.  I live in the NE USA.  Usually they answer in 1 min, and they even seem relaxed and not rushed.  Maybe they don't get so many calls here because most NE folks can work it online now?

I use online chat most of the time to resolve issues, works 99.99%.

Yesterday, and I had rare long 50 min discussion with Tier 2 support on a brand new unlocked smartphone bought retail,  I was connected to support in 1 minute or so, and 50 min is a long time to talk to anyone; reinforce my hunch that voice lines are not as busy as before.  I then called the phone maker, same thing, connected to a tech in 1-2 min, but it was a non-USA call center.

You miss the point. Call centers close because Verizon senior management is greedy. Less people cost less which = fatter bonuses and stock options. Customers have EVERY right to complain about slow or poor service, expecially considering how much Verizon charges. It isn't th fault of the (few) remaining call center workers, it is the fault of management.

But folks, while Verizon has a great network, most of the competitors are very close and bettter in some regards. For customers in rural areas, Verizon is probably the best or only option, but if you live in or near a larger city, look around. T-Mobile has excellent customer service and Google's Fi service is awesome also if you happen to like the phones that work best on it.
