Scammed out of $400 by Verizon Chat Representative

Newbie

I had a conversation with a Verizon representative via their chat support which convinced me to purchase an iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have included the chat correspondence below, Verizon has honored no part of what I was told via chat.

What I was told I was going to receive: $400 off iPhone 11 Pro Max

What I actually got: $72 for my iPhone 7

I was on the phone with support for over an hour and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. Verizon's blatant lies to get me to purchase a phone then retracting them once I had already shipped in my iPhone 7 is astonishing.

Yes I would like to purchase the iPhone 11 Pro Max

Is that for $31.25 per month?

What would my final rate be if I traded in an iPhone 7 with no damage

That is correct! Let me check how much if we will trade in your iPhone 7
Agent at 18:51, Jul 13:
Upon checking, when we will add a line for the iPhone 11 Pro max and trade in your iphone 7, the max discount you will be getting is $400. But if you will be trading in a device that is part of the high tier trade devices such as iPhone 11, Samsung s20, Pixel 4xl the discount you will be getting is $550
Agent at 18:54, Jul 13:
Am I adding a line tho? I already have a line but I just transferred it over today from another account

You at 18:58, Jul 13:

One moment please
Agent at 19:00, Jul 13:
Upon checking, your line is qualified to get the discount for the device since the line is considered a new line added on the account
Agent at 19:05, Jul 13:
Nice that's awesome, so is there a specific link I need to follow to get the maximum discount?

If I am only going to get $70ish dollars for my iphone 7 I will just keep it

But if there is a larger discount I can get by trading it in I would do it

All you have to do is upgrade the device, send the old phone and we will validate it. Normally we will base it the activation date of the line and the plan
Agent at 19:08, Jul 13:
With the first link I sent, you will see the promotion and the "BUY NOW" option
Agent at 19:11, Jul 13:
So what is the total discount if I send in my iphone7 (assuming it's in good condition)? And what is the discount if I don't send it in?

You at 19:13, Jul 13:
Let me calculate it. One moment please
Agent at 19:17, Jul 13:
Your monthly bill will be $44.76. If you will be trading your iPhone 7 for the iPhone 11 Pro, the discount you will be getting is $400 ($16.66 per month for 24 months) The monthly bill will be $29.24 plus the plan amounting to $44.76 including the taxes. The final cost of the line with plan is $74
Agent at 19:24, Jul 13:
That isn't very clear, please format it like this:
