The Preview for Developers can void your warranty? Or do you mean that other thing some folks do to change the country code via new firmware and get the Microsoft WP8.1 firmware?

Sir August,
Please rephrase. Verizon Wireless does not own Nokia. Microsoft bought Nokia Devices and the Company is called Microsoft Mobile Devices:

BryanSP,
I hope you got your phone straightened out. I installed 8.1 on my wife's Icon and she is having some of the same issues. My son-in-law has the Icon without the update and has none of the problems.
I hope you'll not shy away from the release update when it comes out. A phone OS Beta typically is built fo the most common device specs and not optimized specifically for the hardware. When the full release gets pushed out, it will be deployed with hardware specific firmware updates designed to make the OS and the hardware to work in beautiful harmony.
Regards,
Joe

Have you done a hard reset? If not I'd do so. I had weird results with my Icon after installing the preview and after a hard reset the phone has been wonderful.

What firmware version do you have on your phone?
Go to Settings - about and hit "More information"
You should have the following 3 item versions installed - if not you may need updates. I am running WP8.1 on my Icon with no problems with the following 3 items installed:
OS version 8.10.12397.895
Firmware revision number: 1028.3566.1417.0047
Radio software version: 1.0.26057.0001
Let me know if you don't have any of these.

SteveLV702, let's get rid of those bugs. Have you downloaded a few 3rd party applications to your device? Some application software can affect the performance of your device. If so, try uninstalling a few applications on your device and power it off/on to soft reset. Keep us posted.

I'm assuming you had 8.1 developer preview installed. If so, this is and update do 8.1; probably bug fixes and such.
