I think the many posts and threads are pretty clear - a lot of us want a flagship @Windows10 mobile phone on Verizon.  We would like Verizon to make an announcement ASAP to let us know what its plans are regarding these devices.  If there are not going to be any devices in the near future, that's important and we customers should not be strung along in the hopes that one might show up.  If some are in the works, then we would appreciate a time frame so we don't jump to another carrier in haste.  Keeping us in the dark only frustrates your customers.

Microsoft can do it themselves. They don't need Verizon to do anything. Verizon doesn't need to announce a thing. That's the beauty of block C. I'd rather have carriers hands off and block C allows that.

Tidbits,

I agree with you that the BYOD model is the best, and as they moves forward, things are going to go to that model everywhere.  But as it stands today, we're not quite there.

Now, maybe Microsoft has chosen not to work with VZW because VZW's history of being so anti-Microsoft (as seen here by many of our posts.)  If so, that's too bad, but we all know that if VZW actually wanted @Windows10 devices on their network, there would be some.

We are there. Just manufacturers haven't bought in is the problem

Motorola

Google

Apple

Are the only ones who have bought in. Microsoft hasn't and a slew of others. The tech is there for the past 3 years. All the radios today support this.

The problem OEM like to nickel and dime features and hardware options. They want the carriers to buy in to things so they can lower their overhead. In Europe this is illegal and reason why their devices are more expensive before VAT (also 2 year warranty plays a role). If an OEM can lower their overhead and generate revenue with selling less devices to break even they'll do it. Apple doesn't do this. Motorola seems to start adopting this model. Google has adopted this model more so this year than last year.

I was hoping Microsoft would, but they didn't. Hopefully in the near future.

But, IF Microsoft has chosen not to put their new phones on VZW's network, there's a reason.  And if VZW wants them, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't happen at launch.

Maybe in the next few weeks when the other OEMs announce their own devices, there will be a flagship level @Windows10 device that will be on VZWs network.

Jennifer,

Much of the discontent expressed here is due primarily to Verizon Wireless's perceived lack of support...or...outright disdain for Windows based phones. Thus Paul Thurrott noted that VZW and Microsoft would likely be parting company by the end of the year.

The simple answer Microsoft doesn't want to fit the bill on their own. Remember how I said earlier to gain that branding it helps OEMs save money on overhead as well as helps them gain profits faster. Since block C rules allows any device on Verizons network that supports their spectrum (as long as block C is present on the device) Verizon can't stop it on their network. Since Microsoft didn't put the spectrum it their own financial, or business decisions in play.

Windows mobile devices are not allowed on Verizon's network??

I currently run a Microsoft Lumia Icon on Verizon network.

It was hard to buy from Verizon because all their salespeople push Android or Apple but the Lumia Icon works great on Verizon's network. Very snappy, versatile and the camera is so far superior to iPhone 6 it's not even funny.

Dexman so true, Verizon treats Windows Phone different than Android and iOS.
