Be as it may logic should win, but people don't see it that way. Most people see it as...

100K apps

Vs

1MM apps

What has the best chance of me getting what I want or what I am looking for.

Personally I am a modest guy. I use 50 apps on iOS and Android. 37 of them not found on Windows Phones. My most used games(I love old school Final Fantasy games) are not there but that doesn't bother me at all as I play it at home during my leisure hours. If I had 1/2 the missing apps I would be 100% on Windows phone. I recommend Windows Phones to friends but some apps they see their friends running and they don't see it they want iOS or Android.

This is the reason why MS is trying to find easier ways for devs to port their apps. It little resources are needed and it does well then apps will be there. Normal people are not as patient as I am.

I completely agree. As a travelling consultant, I love Verizon's network/coverage. However, if they do not offer a high end Windows 10 phone within the next few months, I will be forced to switch to another carrier. I do not like AT&T but will do so to have a flagship MS Windows 10 phone. I will be taking 2 lines with me. I've been limping along with my Lumia 928 (which I love) waiting for the new 950/950xl only to find out Verizon won't support them. Time for them to get off CDMA like all the other carriers.

There's a disparity. Windows also lost mint recently. Wallaby and Vanguard to name a couple more. Let's be honest the apps we do have don't get updated often. As far as games there are ways around that will work fine enough. Now I don't want work around on productive apps because it can defeat the purpose. I could also use the chase app among others, but it's not a huge deal. WP does have most my other banks.

Those are the only games I have personally. They have my Netflix, and Hulu. Some apps I offered my services to write it for Windows phone for free , but I was turned down. I even offered them the source code and they can keep it without paying me(that's how bad I want some of these apps on the platform).

Compared to you I am extremely modest.  The only app I find necessary is a password "vault" to remind me of my passwords.  I find that a lot of apps don't provide much more that what I can get going directly to the websites.  Does it take a minute longer, maybe, but I'm not loading my phone up with apps that are taking up resources and possibly exploiting my privacy.

For me it will be interesting how much Win10 and the power of the newer phones will make apps unnecessary or easier to port for developers.  I've not been keeping up with it the past few years.  In fact, I'm still on a Palm Treo Pro 850 running Win Mobile 6.1 Professional, if that give you an idea of how few apps I find necessary.  I am interested in consolidating GPS, a better camera, better browsing and other features into my next phone, and maintaining one platform across my devices.

As most of us know, the vast majority of apps are just crapware.  But, because so many people look at just the numbers, they choose that device... which then incentivizes real application developers to focus on them.

One thing I'm very glad about, in addition to the porting you mention, are the Universal Windows Applications.  This should help.

I would be happy for a 950XL or else the new Blackberry Priv with Android. Can't make up my mind at the moment but they are both phones Verizon should consider carrying.

I have been a Verizon customer for over 20 years.  I am very loyal to Verizon customer and do not want to change.  I have always had a "flip phone" until a 21 months ago, I made the change to a " windows smart phone."  I am also loyal to Microsoft and I like the windows phone very much.  I was planning to upgrade to a Windows 10 mobile device after my two year contract ends.  I am very disappointed to learn that I may not be able to do this.

If Verizon and Microsoft cannot get together I am going to have to do a lot of sole searching and research to decide whether it will be Verizon or Windows 10 that will have to go.

While the 950's are not supported by Verizon Wireless, the next generation of Microsoft's Windows Mobile phones hopefully will be.
