Nothing has been done, becasue it is all still ongoing!  How can you expect a result when there is no end yet?

Why do you insist on "limiting" the number so Windows Phones anyway?  When we discuss delays in update, we aren't just referring to Windows Phones.  We are also referring to every phone that is not an iPhone on Verizon!  Android, Windows Phone, Symbian, etc.  What are the numbers for those users who are complaining about delays in updates?

Your attempt at belittling the Windows Phone users to an "insignificant' number fails because we aren't just Windows Phone users.  We are Android, etc. users as well!

This is a Windows thread that is why I limit or try and limit to windows devices.

I have posted a link above about Android updates and the process. You cannot be that St...d not to know what thread you are on.

Like I said name calling when you don't back up your facts. I could stoop to your level but I won't so Troll yourself.

When you are incorrect in your statements I will rebuttal them.

And nothing is ongoing. It was not then nor now a lawsuit. A suggestion does not carry any weight with the FCC or the carriers.

I'm of the mindset that communicating with your customers and even providing a tentative (since there are things that come up) rollout calendar would be beneficial.  Communication is key.  It may not be what you want to hear, but hearing something as opposed to silence is always good.  I would certainly encourage Verizon in this aspect of things.  I enjoy my preview for developers for my Icon, but am curious when Cyan might arrive.

I've also installed to developer preview but my Lumia Icon is experiencing fast battery drains and heats up during regular use. Did you had any of these problems when you've installed the preview? Please advise. Thanks.

Folks,

Stop fretting about Verizon -- Microsoft has made it EASY to upgrade to 8.1.  You need to register for Microsoft's App Studio development, but you are under no other obligation.  See http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Download-Windows-Phone-8-1-Developer-Preview-437488.shtml for a simple discussion of what and how to.

It is the latest version without Cyan, a firmware upgrade not particularly useful to me as I have a 928.  The upgrade is transformative --  fast screens, nested tiles, Cortana, notifications screen, speed dialing lists, easy access to settings, and lots more.  My phone does not heat up and my battery use has been stable and long -- the upgrade is really phenomenal.  You will not get the latest firmware update from Verizon until it releases 8.1, but that is inconsequential.

So step it up and get the upgrade directly through Microsoft -- enough complaining!

Thanks for the information, however most of the individuals on this form already have the WP8.1 DP installed.  What is lacking is the firmware (Cyan) update that enables features on the phones (even your 928) that is currently unavailable with Lumia Black firmware.  There are battery improvements, camera improvements, wifi improvements and fixes, miracast projection capabilities, etc.  There are a ton of things that WP8.1 DP will not provide without the Cyan firmware.  That is what everyone on his is complaining about.   The delay in the Cyan update is preventing us from having features that Lumia users on AT&T are currently enjoying.

well, maybe there was something else involved. Perhaps Microsoft wanted to get HTC to port the One to WP. HTC said only on the condition that we get a lot of marketing support. So the arrangement was that Vz would have it as an exclusive as the only WP 8.1 phone on Vz for two months. It could have been HTC's folks that insisted on this. We just don't know. But considering that the rollout of 8.1 in the rest of the world is almost complete, it is not unreasonable to suspect that the delay on Vz is due to commercial considerations, not technical ones.

And if the FTC found this to be the case, Verizon would be in a heap of trouble as that is completely illegal!

Sorry that makes me laugh...

Reread what he just said that could be a possibility. By the way he worded it that would be on MS and HTC and jot Verizon.
