I've also installed to developer preview but my Lumia Icon is experiencing fast battery drains and heats up during regular use. Did you had any of these problems when you've installed the preview? Please advise. Thanks.

I rest my case. Just look at this post.

In fairness Android and iOS complaints now list battery drain and hot battery. Amoung other issues.

Good Luck

You haven't proved anything!  The FCC complaint IS valid.  You are wrong!  My FCC complaint is still ongoing!  So, no there wouldn't be a "resolution" to that yet, so YOU are wrong about FCC complaints.

I've followed up with the person who signed the FTC complaint and his complaint with the FTC is still onging, so you haven't proved that wrong either.

I can substantiate my Microsoft claim and have posted the conversation on a pervious post.  If VZW would allow posting of .pdf files, I'd post the conversation I had with Microsoft Chat online here to prove it.

I am the poster who stated Verizon Executive stated they have the update and they did.  File your own FCC complaint and they will call you too to let you know they have already received the Cyan update and are currently testing it!  Anyone can get this same information by filing their own FCC complaint.  And as another poster stated, if enough of us file the FCC complaint, Verizon would act quicker!

Just because YOU don't believe we have a "valid reason to complain", doesn't mean we agree with you!  In fact, we totally DISAGREE with  you!  We, as paying customers, have every right to complain all we want and we believe that 3 months of waiting for an update IS a valid reason to complain, whether you agree with that or not.

Also, my FTC complaint filing is proof enough for me that if the ACLU is filing a complaint against carriers for not allowing updates for HTC phones, and other Android devices, then obviously there is a law somewhere (and again, this complaint is still ongoing, so there wouldn't be any information regarding a result yet), that states the carriers must update our devices to fix security flaws.

You anre Tidbits are the ones online here spewing garbage!  You haven't proved a thing, try as you may!  Not believing what others post isn't disproving them!

It's cool, Mr. E has "rested his case" so apparently we won't be hearing any more from him!

Seriously though, it's just troll behavior -- jumping into every thread and trying to rile people up for fun, e.g. "I am getting some of my best entertainment from these posts."

First on your FCC complaint, a call back from the carrier is more than likely a requirement. And in the call no matter what was said " you received no update" did you? Or did you not receive any update? You did not.

On the FTC matter with the ACLU it was to force the FCC to require carriers to provide updates. It was not a lawsuit it was to get a policy but that policy was not adopted. In the filing and FTC response they made reference to many of the issues that they (ACLU) pointed out are already being done via the developers, and from Google etc. By your own links which I showed other links nothing is pending, nothing is moving forward from 2013 and this is not even a lawsuit. Outcome...Nothing changed.

On your call with Verizon where they say they have the update but again nothing has been done.

And Verizon is not the only carrier to not release updates.

Another poster last evening posted a link from a Microsoft stating they are still testing and are doing another update. So it would seem that should start the whole process over would it not.

Again no law is on the books that require any updates must be given by any carrier. If there was one, don't you think it would have been done? Think now real hard. Law that compels carriers that they must update devices and yet 3 out of 4 carriers are not doing it.

They are not doing it because " Nothing can compel them to do so" basic logic there don't you think?

Again you complainers are getting no where. And notice the complaint from another user that is on the developer release saying they are having issues and there are more than one. And where do they post? On the forum.

Don't bet money on it

Like I said last night when you and other complainers get valid rebuttal you don't rely on factual rebuttal but name calling of "Trolls" or "Verizon Employees" you people lose your credibility on each post because you cannot back up your claims that "Verizon has to update your device or any device"

You hee and haw  about this is no way to treat a customer, or a device you purchased that functions must now get updated because Microsoft or any OS is being done. Again you are entitled to no added functionality other than what you received on initial purchase.

And the claim that a sales person promised the update holds no credence since Verizon's own Customer Agreement states otherwise.

And in tech support for any updated device there is a disclaimer that states they are held blameless.

Your service you and I pay for is "Connectivity to the cellular & data network" nothing else.

Find any regulation that states continuous upgrades to your device is included. You cannot

Again Good Luck

This is not from a sales person. It is from a writer for a magazine talking to a sales person(s).

I never flip flop. When I say don't take the word of any sales man that is exactly what I mean.

The writer is showing why Windows Phones don't sell well on carriers. I have no reason to doubt him.

And the sales figures I have been looking for a clear cut set of them now for over two hours or more. I have a huge headache.

If I find it I will post it.(Found something)

http://www.asymco.com/2012/07/13/how-many-lumia/

Windows Phone sales dip in the US, but passes 10% in France and growing in Europe | Windows Phone Ce...

Just looking at those figures and one by Microsoft's WP Central shows a decline. There are not that many Windows phones being used on Verizon or any carrier. Its a given. Android and iOS dominate the market share.

You do understand the writer was regurgitating what the sales person was saying to him, right?   With that said, agreeing with the writer of article you agree with what a sales person said.  Every carrier the writer spoke to was a sales person so yes they are going to turn their nose up on Windows Phone because they don't get the same amount of commissions that they get for Andriod/iPhone.  The write doesn't even question why a Windows Phone isn't recommended.

Asymco, two years old news  Worthless.  Grasping?

Counter your WPCentral with, Latest comScore data shows Windows Phone market share gains in US | Windows Phone Central

Lastly please provide proof from said carriers that there are not many Windows Phones being used else that statement is your opinion and not fact.

If you look at the phones on VZW own site:

Lumia Icon - http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/device/smartphone/nokia-lumia-icon - 939 reviews.  Rating 4.5 out 5.

Lumia 928 - http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/device/smartphone/nokia-lumia-928 - 1027 review.  Rating 3.8 out 5.

Granted the numbers aren't as high as other smartphones listed on VZW.  But if you sort all smart phones by Ratings the Lumia Icon is number 2.

You know I did not notice the date on the first link. My apology for the outdated link.

However my second link was up to date 2014 May. And your link September 2014 speaks of July figures. However my link and your link show the same thing. Windows Phones are not really doing well (better than blackberry) so May through July 2014. Still dismal in comparison to Android and iOS devices.

So by the figures you provided prove there are not many of these Windows phones sold.

Oh and a customer rating of four and five stars is not proof of carrier sales. But I think you knew that.

Proof from the carriers is right in front of you. They do not sell more than Android or iOS it is right in front of you.

I was agreeing with the writer as to why windows phones were not big sellers. Not that a sales person on three carriers all deflected to apple devices on their own recommendation. I was agreeing with the assessment that lack of sales was occuring due to sales force not recommending Windows phones.

Good Luck
