Transfer contacts from Driod Eris

Just purchased the Nokia Lumina 822 to replace my HTC Driod Eris. The Eris does not have the backup assistant so how do I transfer my contacts?

If you go to a VZW corporate store, they should be able to do it for you. Other then that you can try syncing your contacts from your Eris to Google and see if you can then sync them on your Lumia.

The contacts on the DROID Eris should have been saved to the Google/Gmail account. If not, you can export the contacts to the SD card as a CSV file. This file can be transferred to your computer and imported into your Outlook account associated with your Windows phone.

First make sure your Eris phone contacts and calendar are synced up to your web-based gmail account.  Check your gmail online and make sure your contacts reflect what is in your phone.

As long as the 822 is running Windows Phone 8, all google Contacts and Calendar stuff should sync up when you add your gmail account in your "People Hub" Settings.  (In the hub press the 3 dots on the bottom right corner)

I ended up exporting my contacts from my gmail account into a .csv file and imported them into my hotmail account. Once I added the hotmail account to the new phone everything was there.
