Preview for developers and Verizon Edge

I installed on my Nokia Lumia Icon the Preview for Developers. I am also enrolled in Verizon Edge with that device. I am ready now to change my device to a new one, but i am not sure if i can do it...

I know that using the Preview for Developers voided my warranty, but can I still trade in the phone and "edge up"? Or am i stuck with the phone?

I dont want to get a new phone, send the phone back to Verizon as i am supposed to and then see Verizon asking me for the whole price of the device back or something!

Help?

I've heard several people say that installing the Preview for Developers voids your warranty, but I don't believe this. It's an app, available in the Windows Phone Store. And nowhere can I find any warning about "installation voids warranty." I'll believe PfD voids warranties when I read something official.

I know that if you ask a VZW Rep this questions the normal answer would be yes, it does void the warranty.  There has been extensive discussion surrounding this on the WP Central forums.  The common thought is that installing Windows Preview for Developers and updating to WP 8.1DP will NOT void your warranty.  If you read the warranty closely, it covers the hardware, not the OS.

Plus you have the ability to roll your phone back out of the Developer Preview so that it's factory reset.  If you do that prior to turning it in, it's no different than if you never enrolled in the Developer Preview in the first place...
