Ok, so how do we make this happen?

There is a community here that is looking for a newer WP platform on VZW. We make posts here, but is that enough? Is it reaching the correct audience? Who do we need to voice our thoughts to? Do we need to start a petition? (Personally, I find petitions are rather useless.) Do we need to find the email address for someone higher up and start sending emails directly to them?

Thoughts?

these customer-service-less people can't even get the forum updated to "windows phone". windows mobile was discontinued over a year ago ROTF.

Short of creating a Facebook page called "VZW Hates Windows Phone" (which would be probably taken down within a few hours of being up) or something that's going to get public attention, but in the same sentiment of Chinch do hold your breath.  VZW stupid policy of not releasing their roadmap for devices or their stance on WP7 well never know.  Hopefully there will be some good news at CES 2012 next month otherwise I'm cancelling my landline with them and moving 10 cell phones (all of which contract will be up by then) to at&t.

Well Verizon/MS, like any other corporation, cares about the $.

From the news today about VZ pushing MS for LTE adoption, it sounds like MS is the laggard.

I will be voting with my $$s and getting an LTE Razr or Rezound for current upgrade cycle.  Given the same hw, MS would have gotten my $s.  Hopefully my vote helps you out an inkling

I've been telling friends for six months or more to steer clear of Android - be it on a phone or a tablet.  The mainstream media is finally catching up, spreading the info I've been spreading.  With the security model that Android has (they don't), anyone who wishes to keep their personal information private, and their data secure, needs to steer clear of Android entirely.

Bottom line: With Blackberry dying, the best choices are Windows Phone (the most secure phone), and iPhone (just a shade behind Windows Phone on security). Basically, they're close enough that the choices just boil down to taste. If you like animations, go with the iPhone. If you like clean design and glance and go, go with the Windows Phone.

I didn't really get an answer, but I think it is through evangalism, grass roots, talking face to face, one person at a time. The media is turning around. Everyday, I see more articles about people supporting WP. The ground swell is moving, we have to preach it though. Let's face it, the people that frequent these boards aren't the ones that need convincing. The ones we need to talk to are the ones that have no clue whatsoever and just need a push from someone.

Take for example, I was in an ATT store today. There was a lady that was unhappy with the fact that her phone wouldn't get her Yahoo mail. She had the phone for 60 days so couldn't exhange it. There wasn't anything WRONG with the phone per se. She just couldn't get it to do what she wanted, i.e. check Yahoo.

She wanted a brand new iPhone instead. The sales guy kept telling her he didn't have that authority. She was getting more and more irate.

While this was going on, I took one of the display WP and configured it for Yahoo and then stepped in and said, "Did you want to do this?" and showed her the phone. She said "That's perfect! What is this?" I told her it was a WP and showed her the simple, clean and elegant home screen and tiles. Best of all, the sales person could do an even swap for that phone.

She was tickled pink, the sales guy kept a customer and we have one more WP believer in the ranks.

Now I'm not saying troll the stores, and all, but talk to your friends. Talk to your family, see who is close to an upgrade and then start engaging them. Let them see your phone.  Let them play with it.

She probably would have been just as tickled if you had correctly configured her Yahoo Mail on her current phone, as this was probably all that needed to be done.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure that the WP works fine, but if she was unable to configure her phone to receive her Yahoo Mail, then she will most likely have just as many problems with the WP, unless of course, you are there to help her every time she encounters a problem.

^ yes, thought the same thing, tho for my BB Yahoo quit the native app a while ago and told me to use the mobile website instead.

So what exactly happened?  Did the lady pay for a WP phone without contract?  Which would probably be $500 or more?
