Just because of a delay doesn't make it their fault. What if the update gave poor signal and Verizon sent it back to correct this? Must be pretty tough to be blamed either which way.

If that were the case, then yes, I would still blame Verizon.  If they don't want the blame, then go PUBLIC!  Announce that there is a problem and that the update is being returned to Microsoft/Nokia for updating.  Then I'd put the blame on Microsoft.  However, being left in the dark with no info, how would I know there is a problem?  Without gaining knowledge otherwise, I can only assume Verizon is delaying the update.  If they aren't respectful of us paying customers to let us know there is a problem, then they deserve all the criticism they get!

You just don't understand do you?

Verizon is not required to inform you if any update is being looked at or being pushed out.

Visit the device makers web site for that information.

I visited the Nokia web site and their information is spotty at best. So why would Verizon have better information?

Verizon cannot be blamed for something they don't even have to give you.

Its the same ole thing every day. Misinformation and pointless blame on the wrong party (Verizon)

Verizon is not required to inform me of anything.  You are correct.  However, if they are willfully withholding the information regarding the status of the update, then I am fully within my right to blame them.  They are in control of the update since they are the ones who demand it be tested before being allowed to be pushed by the manufacturer.  I, as a paying customer, have a right to inquire as to the status of this update.  If Verizon chooses to be disrespectful of its customers inquiries and not provide any information, then I am fully within my right to blame them for any delay in receiving my firmware update.  As for checking with the device manufacturer on the status, why would I ask Microsoft or Nokia about the testing phase that is taking place at Verizon?  Verizon is doing the testing, not Microsoft or Nokia.  So that comment is just plain stupid.  "Verizon cannot be blamed for something they don't even have to give you."  Really!?  If Verizon is the reason for me not getting the update that the manufacturer is providing, then you better believe I would place FULL blame on Verizon!  Why wouldn't I.  Again another stupid comment.  You are the one spreading misinformation and pointless blame on the wrong party (Microsoft/Nokia).

Lol what? So this information is confidential but you're sharing it on a public forum? That makes no sense. Sounds more like you're assuming or were told a lie.

I find it hard to believe that Verizon doesn't have the update. Instead it's more likely that they are taking their sweet time approving it for release because WP is not a high priority for the company.

Did you go to the Nokia web site (Microsoft owns the brand) The information is what is happening as of the date they gave the information.

Who says Verizon has the update? Show me the link.

Or stop the constant misinformation and misdirected anger towards Verizon. Produce proof. Not conjecture.

I believe another poster asked you for proof on that so called FCC complaint and you used a corny reason not to produce the proof. Its a secret. (Confidential)

And as I pointed out another poster said what if Verizon sent it back to the device maker because it did not pass? Again that is the manufacturers responsibility to keep their customers informed. Not your cell carrier.

Again Verizon sells you a service to the cellular and data networks. Nothing else.

They don't make devices and they make nothing more than money. And they don't have to update money.

That could be the case. However I went and visited the Nokia site and under updates it is sparse. They don't say released to carriers. Just look at this link.

Availability in North America - Nokia

Now tell me what real information is in that link? And this from the maker of the device. I used the 928 as an example only. But you can select any model from the support page.

I've been to the Nokia website and what they provide is a hell of a lot more information than what Veizon is providing.  And as for proof that Verizon has the update, I have a print out of the chat conversation I had with Microsoft that confirms the update was provided to Verizon on July 15th.  I can provide this much info on this public forum (I placed XXXX to hide the name of the Microsoft technician).

And again as I stated yesterday that could also be deflection on their part. (Nokia/Microsoft)

I notice that device makers and OS developers blame the carriers and the other flip side is the carriers blame the device makers and OS developers.

You just cannot tell which one is lying to you.

You will just have to wait as the tech stated in the chat session.

Constant complaining as I also said is not going to get that update any faster or at all.
