So someone called you names and you had to respond?  I thought "sticks and stones..."  Interesting mindset of an adult...

So you are OK with it, but I am not. That's disrespectful.

Also I was having a discussion with someone. People jump in and attack what I say with things that doesn't pertain to them. Like that 2 post wonder recently. I ignored the other conversation and was talk to a person who has an open mind and had more interesting counter points from time to time instead of the usual "Troll is Verizon because Internets said so stars arguments stop shilling".

So far one of my responses is spot on. When the update is rejected it'll go back to Nokia. Nokia won't tell you how often it happens. They just admitted to it once and when asked how many times has it happened in the past few months the answer goes avoided and never answered.

Of course I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt.  I have played on the other side as developer.  I run into policies and things you will NEVER run into as a consumer.  I've said the same thing on AT&T, and T-Mobile boards on the exact same thing.

It's always easier to blame the carrier, but you get jack for results.  6 years of data backs it up, and how Europe does things have already yielded the results you want.. Go Figure.  If you want to blame the carruer that's all fine and dandy.  Don't expect your updates as shown by Android devices.  Look at Europe and they blame *gasp* the manufacturer, and they get updates galore compared to ANY other device on Any carrier in the US.  They made HTC and Motorola changed how they do things.

Show me where I joked about people complaining about complaining about not getting the update.  My first post in here was....

I did start a thread and it wasn't about making fun of people complaining... IF you actually read it instead of paraphrasing and skimming it you will see what I said was exactly what I said in this very post.  Don't bother with the FCC, BBB, and such start talking with your wallet, because doing this has shown it doesn't work.  Europe shows a superior way because they are getting what YOU want.

If it's a thread started by someone else.  I can't control what they do. They are not me.

Keep this squeaky wheel going don't stop posting about your disappointment. It's good to see that verizon is taking the time to moderate this, but not taking the time to respond. I mean any response. Give us some estimate of time frame Verizon. Why has it taken them this long to find these problems, and send it back to mircosoft, you had this since July? Has a timeline been given by microsoft or verizon? Don't also doubt that some of the people in this forum are verizon employees posing as customers to redirect the conversation or the blame. Keep up the squeaky wheel!!! Keep complaining!!

Squeeeeek squeeek. Where's my update. Where's my update. Where's my update. HTC has update, where's my Nokia update. Pending pending pending, if you don't want to be asked then get out of the way of updates. Where's my update.

If I buy a video game from Wal Mart, I don't have to wait on Wal Mart to approve updates for it. Why should I for Verizon?

Verizon sells the phone, in the role of a retailer. I either pay full price, or do the contract deal. Either way, I do my part and they give me the product. Now get out of the way. If Verizon wants to tell me what I can do with something ive received from them, then they need to lease phones or give deep discounts to compensate for having that privilege.

You say you're not on the dev preview (I wouldn't know what identifiers to look to prove/disprove that since I do not run the preview), but barring a video demonstrating new 8.1 features and somehow proving it isn't running the dev preview... I remain skeptical. After all, it's not a small update, you'd KNOW you were installing it. Plus there are several prompts. Further the Cyan status page still shows it under development.

Big difference between a video game update and a cellular device update.

The difference is that device cannot mess with the carriers network. Any carrier.

Verizon sells you a connection to the cellular and data network with a functioning device.

The updates are not something they have to allow. As has been proven over and over.

I agree that the cellular carriers should not do any updates or update approvals. Once you buy the device it should be solely on the device makers. In the same venue once any update is done to that purchased device Verizon and the other carriers should give no support technical or otherwise since they did not update it.

However like with androids and iOS devices after an OS update people flock here with the numerous complaints about my WiFi or Bluetooth no longer works, my radio signal is not as good as before, my email stopped working, my app is not working, my phone won't ring, my phone goes to voicemail, my screen shuts off and is dark, my on/off button is not working etc.

However none of these issues is the carriers responsibility. It work prior to the update and now it didn't.

Not Verizon's fault so everyone who gets any update should direct their anger to the manufacturer since Verizon does not make devices.

So I agree with you, Verizon and others should stay out of it completely.
