Nope, VZW will release it when they feel like it and will never release an ETA. Plus they have to test GDR2 on the 822 as well which is also behind on a firmware revision
Verizon Wireless has crushed and ground up all of my hopes and dreams for ever giving us an update after failing to update our HTC Trophy phones from 7.5 to 7.8.
I simply pretend there will never be an update for our 928s; I will not be disappointed. I assume the next OS upgrade for me is when I buy another phone in two years.
They have us over a barrel because we want the best phone signal. They win.
I saw on an AT&T chat board stating the verizon release of the new update was out yesterday. After seeing the message on here, I am assuming this is not true. Does Verizon monitor these chatrooms? If so, have they ever responded? I would like to know when the Windows Phone update 8.0.10327.77 or 8.0.10328.78 is coming for us.
These Verizon forums are weird.

As well, on rare occasions, a Verizon CSR may post a solution to someone's problem.>Although there are some CSR's who visit this stie, it is primarily a Customer to Customer site. For pressing issues, it is always best to contact VZW directly at 800-922-0204<
However, Verizon reminds us that the purpose of this forum is for users to suggest solutions to each other, so long as they don't go against service agreements (so long as Verizon says it's okay). That way, they don't have to respond (nor even read) what we (Verizon customers) have to say.

FYI The GDR2 update is being pushed out to the 928. Go into your settings, select phone update and it should be waiting for you. If not, click check for update and it should find it. You have to be inside a WiFi network though for it to download.
It's available right now. Mine is now updated and.... Group messaging is enabled! Just go to settings and phone update then search for update and then Enjoy Lumia Amber!
I downloaded Amber yesterday on my 928 with joy that I could finally block all those "Unknown" and Sales numbers. SMS and Call block feature does not work at all. I read somewhere that it requires the GDR2 update so did Nokia release Amber without the MS GDR2 update? Does anyone with a 928 actually have call blocking working? I have it activated, have some numbers in there, and every single number that's in there still goes through. If you look at the log of how many calls were blocked it shows 0.
From actual legit (non-rumor) sites I have been reading that Amber and GDR2 are two seperate things. Amber is made by Nokia and GDR2 is the Windows update. Also from what it reads is some features of Amber only work because of GDR2, which is why I asked the above. If other people have all the features fully functional (and actually have seen them work, not just there to activate like I can do) I wonder why mine does not.
The HTC Trophy is 3 years old. In mobile phone terms that's ancient. You have a phone that didn't make the cutoff for WP7.8. You're not alone. Time to move on.
Microsoft has been upping the hardware requirements for new versions of the mobile operating system at a rapid pace. They're dragging it, sometimes kicking and screaming, into the future to compete head to head with Android and iOS. That's going to be painful for some folks. How do you think the Lumia 900 buyers felt when they learned that after only 73 days on the market they would not be able to upgrade their "flagship" WP phone to WP8? Those are the folks for whom the 7.8 consolation prize was intended.
Regarding Call+SMS Filtering... I have the same issue. My phone running Nokia Amber update PLUS GDR2 from MS. Given the track record with Verizon I'd place my money on the feature itself being blocked by the carrier (they have number blocking available for a fee).
