My son has this phone. He has been accused of using it at school to turn TVs on and off. A teacher looked at his phone and said it has an infrared emitter but I think what's he's looking at is the microphone. Is it possible to use the Nokia Lumia 822 as a TV remote?

The phone doesn't have an IR emitter.

Though its possible that he had an app that can communicate to some of the newer smarttv over wifi. Check his app list to see if there is any apps that would fit.
From that site it appears the this phone will be able to do FM radio at some point. Am I reading that correctly?
