Does she have an iPhone? if so there's a good possibility the phone has wifi assist turned on, which will chew up a lot of data, very quickly. To disable wifi assist, tap settings, then cellular, then scroll all the way to the bottom. You will see wifi assist on the left side, and you'll be able to turn it on and off. Hope this helps
She used it before you made sure she couldn't use it. Data use is reported up to 6 hours after the actual usage (rarely longer).
