My husband has a Casio G'zone and I have an old VZ8900, which I plan to upgrade in a month, and both phones will either not ring/vibrate at all or go to voicemail after 2 rings. As soon as I stepped on a Delta plane in Anchorage, my phone worked fine. Is this a problem with the phones programming or with the lack of Verizon cell sites in this state. I just switched my husband from AT&T and he is not happy with missing lots of business calls. *228 will not work in Alaska.

If *228 does not work, that means you are either roaming, or in an extended network. It isn't the phones, it's the signal availability.
