lousy phone customer service

Sunday April 15 8:20 p.m.  and I've been on hold with customer service for 35 minutes.   Every time I call Verizon there is an unreasonable wait time.

I'm sick of the poor customer service.

I’m sorry to learn of the long hold when you call us for assistance, mpiriemon. Give us an opportunity to answer any Verizon Wireless questions you may have, and let us provide you with the customer service experience that you deserve.

What specific Verizon Wireless questions can we answer for you?

Is your account part of our prepaid service, or postpaid service?

I would guess that most of their CS reps do NOT work on Sunday let alone Sunday nights

Heaven forbid the poor soul working at a call center be at home with their family on a Sunday night.

Yes, poor customer service. How dare someone with mandatory overtime not be available to take your call out of the millions of Verizon customers.

Why not use the My Verizon app..? Over half the stuff waiting forever for an agent to do can be done yourself.

Glitchedpixel & boringusername;  That's Bull.  Any company that provides a 24hr service should be able to do exactly that and provide customer service 24hrs as well.  There are various shifts; daytime, swing, graveyard, etc.  CSRs are not working mandatory overtime simply because they are working on a Sunday night.  What, you think that those working the graveyard shift are ALSO working the day shift?  You think that those working on Sundays are also working on M-F?

And no, not everything can be handled online.

The OP has a legitimate complaint.  For you to suggest that THEY are the problem because of when they are calling is wrong.  More often than not, regardless of the time/day, there is a long wait on hold for Verizon customer service.  There should rarely be more than a 10 minute wait, otherwise a company (in this case Verizon) should hire more CSRs to handle the load.
