losing phone service during short power outages

we continue to lose verizon LTE and even at times voice service during even short power outages and it is unfortunately very troubling. one expects cell phone service to be a backup when one loses power but this makes things even worse. anyone else with the same issue? does verizon have a response or a solution?

How long are these outages?

The cell towers usually have a backup power supply like a generator, but those generators can take a few minutes to spin up to speed and transfer the load to the generator. Some cell towers might also incorporate a UPS system (uninterrupted power supply) which uses batteries to keep the power for critical components from experiencing a power outage during utility blips or outages before the generator kicks in. Unfortunately, it isn't always guaranteed that every cell tower has these backup systems in place either because it is a location that never had it before or the local jurisdiction has restrictions on how many backup power supply system are in a certain area.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

We have neighbors that have Verizon and they do not lose service so that means the tower is not the issue
