incoming call announcement

Suddenly, my phone plays an announcement prior to my ringtone....annoying. "Verizon Wireless" prior to my ringtone....I want to skip the announcement and just play my ringtone as before....

go to settings, sound settings or alerts

look for something like caller id read out, or service alerts.. something like that

I did find the "enhanced roaming indication" sound was switched on.... turning that off seems to have silenced the annoying announcement. I recently let some purchased ringback tones lapse and that may have had something to do with it. T hanks for your help. I noticed there were other folks on the forum having similar frustrations and they recommended several things that didn't apply to my phone....thanks again.

If you have a Motorola Razr or if your Phone has I.C.S you can Go to Settings--> then Go to Accessibility --> System --> Caller ID and Check it off so that it doesn't sound before you Ringtone.. Give that a try ..b33

If you can't find it there Keep Looking till you find Caller ID and there you can shut it off..
