I’ve been with Verizon wireless for ~18 years and with Verizon internet for many years as well. I think Verizon just offers invalid promo codes through their Verizon up app to scam people to buy phones. I contacted Verizon Wireless and kept getting directed to other departments today for the promo code that is for an $200 discount for a iPhone 11 Pro or pro max upgrade that expires on 31-Oct-2020, however, all of the VZ representatives were not able/didn’t want to help (talked to 2 people that were a bit nasty). I felt like the VZ representatives were not reading my emails and trying to end the email conversation ASAP. One lady told me my promo code expired on 15-Oct-2020 even though it states 31-Oct-2020. One lady said I had to spend MORE than $1,449.99 on a iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 prom max for the promo code to go through (which is impossible considering the most expensive models,512 gb, for the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max would be $1349.99 and $1449.99, respectively, at full retail price. I was told by some of the VZ representatives that I was wrong and they were right. Verizon has to retrain some of their employees on manners for customer service positions.

Giving a company money each month doesn't entitle you to anything beyond service. Comcast doesn't give out free TVs and Walmart doesn't give out free groceries.

I've also been a customer for a long time and don't share this same attitude. I buy my phones seperate from Verizon. The plan I have is one not available to new customers. That is your "loyalty". If another company can do better for service, I'll switch. The idea of being loyal to company that doesn't really care about people beyond getting money from them is a silly concept.

But no grocery store gives out free groceries.  However in the wireless industry it is common practice to incentivize new customers by providing free or reduced cost equipment for locking into 24 or 30 months.  If I switch to another wireless carrier they will provide the new iphone for free (paid for over 24 or 30 months).  If I was not a customer of Verizon the same applies.  It encourages customers to constantly switch companies.  Having said that, I would agree if the wireless industry did not provide incentives for equipment we would purchase the equipment outright and pay for the service.  If the wireless industry wants what you suggest, as a group they need to stop providing incentives.  Perhaps the cost of service would be less in this situation?  Therefore am I subsidizing the cost to obtain new customers?  I must be because that is a cost that must be borne by someone.

I continuously check for Verizon deals for existing customers since being a member for over 16 years and have not come across any offers. Verizon is not transparent as it relates to loyalty. That being said, Verizon has even removed the 15% discount to military spouses, which is absurd considering I have six lines and military spouses usually handle all of the business in the home while their soldiers active/retired is or have put their life on the line so that you can be free in this country and offer phone service. Let’s do better Verizon. I am dissatisfied with the way you do business.

Let me also mention, I am highly considering switching. I would rather have transparency and mediocre service than pour over $380 dollars a month into a company that does not appreciate me and my military family.

Ha! I've been saying this for years! They only care about "New Customers" or "New Business". I too have five lines. I don't need another line. I too have been a customer for almost 30 years.  I have a better one for you. I received a text Thursday morning for a promo for the iPhone Mini for five dollars a month for 24 months with qualified trade in and plan. All of which I was willing to do. The only problem is, the deal doesn't exist! And the here's the kicker! I can still see the deal on my home page as an offer. When you try and buy the phone, its only taking off $412, which comes out to $12 a month for the phone. I've chatted multiple times just to see what kind of answer I would get and they are completely clueless. I was able to speak to one person on the phone after speaking to a couple of people on the phone and this nice guy did say that they could honor the deal but they would have to do back end paperwork! Are you kidding me! Verizon is a 250 billion dollar company and they still can't get this promo corrected? Here it is at 0900 in the morning two days later and their technicians can't figure this out? Maybe they want to attract hits to the website and they really don't want to give you the phone for five dollars a month. Anyway, I emailed the executive VP of marketing and filed an FCC complaint. Maybe I'll get some answers Monday.

We are sorry you are thinking of leaving Verizon, 012345678910. We understand that deals may not always be the best for upgrades, but all promotions are available to all customers. You can still add a line and remove a previous line to get all our promotions even with an existing account. We do have promotions that just require trade in, and promotions that require nothing but upgrading. You can also review any offers available using your My Verizon. Meet us in a Private Note to discuss more.

We want to make sure you get the best deal possible. Did you complete the trade-in as well? Do you still see this offer?
