Why would Verizon start charging an upgrade fee?

I totally agree with your view on this issue.  I was so pissed at seeing $60. upgrade fee for two phones.  I am a customer for over 10 years and always pay my bill on time.  I have four phones on my plan, 3 are due for upgrade.  I am sending thoses phone back to verizon and going with another carrier and as soon as my contract is up it's bye bye verizon.  My internet, my tv and home phone are out too.  I'm fed up with all the extra charges.

Good for you! I am a strong advocate for going with the carrier which best suits your needs.

Hopefully the carrier you choose will not have similar fees and will meet your coverage requirements.
