My voicemail has never worked. I have been calling for four days, mostly spent on hold. How can Verizon charge for a feature they won't supply?

They don't charge for it...Unless you have visual voicemail, in which case you need to install the app

Of course they charge for it. You pay your bill and have voicemail. I pay my bill and am supposed to have voicemail, according to Verizon.

If you want to look at it that way go ahead. Go to a store.

Been to a store. Wasted hours there and they can't get it fixed either.

Going to just wait for the first of the week and call my State Public Service Commission representative and file a complaint.

What phone do you have? Did you ever set up your voicemail? Try dialing *86 and using 1+ the last 4 digits of your phone number as the password.

It use to be the last 4 digits of your phone number.
When the voicemail is not set up it brings you to the setup prompts.
It then states to change or set up at pass code in the setup.
It then is just prompts to use a standard greeting or record one of your own, to use your recorded name or just have the caller hear your cell number etc.
However it is best done via a landline phone via dialing your own number.
Have a happy!

Yes, if Verizon ever fixes my voicemail I will be able to go through the set up process. Done that dance already at least 20 times with multiple tech support and store employees. There's just no voicemail to set up until Verizon properly programs the account.

Soxo666,
Making sure that you are able to use all of the features that comes with your service is certainly a priority for us. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your voicemail but we will work to get this taken care of for you. In order to assist you with this issue, we would need to know what kind of phone do you have currently? What is happening with the voicemail service? Is it not even showing on the phone that you have? When someone tries to call you, are they even prompted with the option to leave you a voicemail? Has the service ever worked on your phone? Please keep us posted.
