Why no BOGO deals for long-time loyal customers?

We've been a Verizon customer for over 15 years.  We have always had multiple lines and currently have 3 with no money owned on any device.  Two of those phones are iPhone 6s which we are looking to upgrade, and hoped to take advantage of the current Back To School BOGO deal.  Unfortunately, it appears that all of the Verizon BOGO deals are geared towards attracting new customers only - as they always require the addition of a new line.  I'm not sure what Verizon execs are thinking by not allowing their Sales teams to offer loyalty incentives to the customers who provide the revenue for their paychecks, but it's pretty disheartening.  Will there be any loyalty "device upgrade" incentives from this company, or should customers start looking harder at your competitors - whose services are improving enough to switch?  Thanks for your time.

The BOGO deals can be used by existing customers. They just have to be willing to to add a new line of service to the account. Unfortunately, that option isn't the best option for all of the customers.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

People need to get the idea out of their head that being with a company for X number of years means anything. It doesn't in the workplace anymore and it doesn't for consumers. Best Buy isn't going to give you a free TV, Walmart isn't going to give you free groceries and Verizon isn't going to give you a free/heavily discounted 2nd phone just because you been with them for years.

Customers of other carriers post the same things. BOGO deals will always require a new line. Deals exist for existing customers, but people are too obsessed with BOGO to notice them when they're available. Either cheat the system by porting out to Google Voice and porting back in or switch. It's that simple.

Your first sentence sums up the entire reason corporations DONT honor customer loyalty or care about retention anymore.  So long as people have your attutude and refuse to hold a company to higher standards, the consumer will always lose.

there are promotions for upgrades with no new line required. It's just not with an iPhone. You'll have better luck with upgrade deals around the holiday season

There are deals for existing customers. This was a recent deal. You could get $300 off for one line without adding a new line of service.

I liked your comment.  It is very dishearten when Verizon has no incentive for paying customers.  I have been with Verizon for over 18 years.  I all ready pay for four lines and they still want me to add another line to get a deal on the better phones.  I guess its time I change.  Again bad on you Verizon for not supporting your paying customers.

I am also a long time Verizon customer and miss those days  when we could upgrade our phones every 18 months or so for  very discount pricing. I do feel your frustration.

However, earlier this year, I was able to take advantage of an upgrade pricing on the Iphone XR. It was $300 off at the time, no unlimited plan required or no new line required. They shouuld  run that promo again.

Also if you check Apple's website they often offer the XR with a trade-in for quite a bit off.  So the deals are out there, if you are patient and look hard enough.   GOOD LUCK

It isn't recommended. If you port back within 90 days of porting out that line of service (phone number) isn't considered a new line of service.
