My company uses Good Mobile for corporate email. Can someone please tell me why Verizon charges $15 dollars a month for the privilege to use this service? Verizon does not pay licensing fees for this software, they don't pay for server space, this service doesn't cost them a penny...yet I need to pay $15 dollars above and beyond my 8GB plan? Why?

Yes I am. Even new plans on the edge program still charge 15 per month for corporate email.

HHmmm, our company uses Good and no Verizon users on More Everything needed to add the $15 corporate email access. This includes me, and these are all BYOD devices.

I'm not sure you read my question. The link you sent was useless. I know how to use good mobile messenger. I would like to know what cost Verizon pays for so that I can use Good? And if there is none, as I expect, why am I charged $15 dollars a month for "access?"

Also, why do people like Weth have different experiences? I just went in to setup a brand new 10 gig plan on edge and it asks if I will be using Good, which has it listed as a $15 dollar a month charge. Sure wish someone would explain what Verizon is providing for that $15/ month...because I don't get extra data for that.

The good mobile messaging is more than just email, its a messaging service. (hence the charge)
the "official" meaning (definition) of the Good Mobile Messaging
(Formerly Goodlink) Good Mobile Messaging is an
alternative to using Wireless Sync Enterprise Server and Microsoft Exchange
Active Sync (but not Wireless Sync Hosted Solution). Offered by Good Technology,
this is a standards-based wireless messaging and application access system that
provides mobile field forces with a two-way, wirelessly synchronized connection
to Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM Lotus Domino (enterprise email, contacts,
calendar, and notes) and other critical applications

Hi Bizzareone,
Thanks for the response. I'm still left wondering how any of what you described costs Verizon money, and why I would pay Verizon for the use of this app? My company does not utilize the messaging feature for Good, only the email aspect. But even if it did, lots of free apps have messaging services. Google hangout, facebook, etc...
I would like an official response from Verizon on why there is a $15 dollar fee for the use of Good. It's a free app download. In my case, my company pays licensing fees for me to use the Good service. I'm given a pin number from my company that I enter when I first setup Good on my mobile device. Why is this different than setting up my Gmail and Google Hangout? And why do some people not have to pay Verizon to use Good? I have a current plan, and even looking at the new Edge plans it still has the Good $15 dollar add on listed.
Still confused, and feel ripped off.
Can anyone provide a concrete answer? Or is it just the Verizon run around so they can keep collecting money from me? I may consider filing a complaint with the BBB if I don't get an actual answer.
Thanks to those that provided responses.
Still looking for answers...
Patrick

Lack of response is confirming my suspicion.
