Does anyone know what the source of the service outage is? Verizon Chat representatives said the outage was restored by 11/01 and then said an engineer was looking into my particular complaint but that was three days ago now (11/06). My cell briefly indicated the mobile network state as connected this morning but is back to disconnected this afternoon. Its' service state has been out of service since Saturday night. Emails get through but that's it.

According to today's Chat: "Okay I went ahead and looked up your ticket
also. Looks like a master ticket was created as several others
are experiencing the same issues and our network team is still working on
the problem currently."
It's neither the cell nor the SIM. I am told the problem may be resolved
within 7 business days. Start=10/31 which was a Saturday. Are business
days still counted as just Monday-Friday?

Mlvrathonyi-
We want your service to be working as it should when you have us as your Wireless carrier. Our cellphones have become our lifeleine because many of us no longer have home phones. Let's get you back in business. What is your zip code? You mentioned that emails work. Are you connected to Wi-Fi or out network when receiving emails?

Could you please give us a more information about your issue?
Here are some attributes that would greatly help us solve your issue for you:
1. Is your device a 3G or 4G LTE device
2. Make and model of your device
3. A description of what your device says, for example "My device is telling me there is No SIM inserted."

I have a Samsung Stratosphere, 4G LTE which is currently "Searching for
service". I have relayed this to Verizon through the Chat service and an
open ticket has been escalated. I have stepped through the troubleshooting
steps on the website: turned off, battery removed for 30 seconds, SIM
removed for 30 seconds, replace battery & SIM, turn on, verify Airplane
mode is off. The WiFi radio detects nearby WiFi networks as usual though I
don't monitor to see which are open/free to use. Problems with service in
NY were acknowledged for Saturday night into Sunday but Chat
representatives were surprised service had not been restored to my cell on
Monday. My cell is still searching for service as I type.

mlvrathonyi, you have been through a lot of troubleshooting. We are not giving up until we get it working for you. Have you done a factory data reset on the device? Here are more details http://vz.to/1LYrwpm.

I was trying to avoid a factory reset. I don't think the phone is the
problem. I am in the midst of setting up the cell after choosing factory
reset from one of the settings menus. The cell still indicates no service.

Thanks for keeping us posted, we can continue to explore fixes mlvrathonyi. With the phone still showing “no service”, have you tried a brand new SIM card? This can be obtained either by stopping into a local store location which you can locate here: http://vz.to/1JcMcvs or we can order you one and have it sent free of charge if you are to call into customer service. Here is their contact number: http://vz.to/1g1mHjf

We are sorry to read that you are having issues with service in your area and we are here to help. We do not show any alerts for your area. Are other Verizon users having issues? Did you have service at any time during your commute from home to work?
