I have been looking for a texting phone for my children and have noticed that Verizon is no longer incluing Family Locator locatee capacity on many new phones (e.g., Samsung Reality, LG Cosmos, all smartphones). It seems odd to me that especially the Cosmos and Reality don't have it, as they would be ideal for youngsters. Is this an indication that Family Locator is being phased out? Is there any indication that this omission will be fixed on these phones in the near future?
Thanks

There is not a software currently designed for Family Locator on those devices. In saying that, a software could be made later on for them. Here is a link for some devices that does have Family Locator: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneOverviewByDevice...

The Cosmos seems like a phone for which Family Locator is well suited, but, it does not have access to Verizon's 3G Network which Family Locator depends upon to locate our family members. It is a 1X only phone.
The Samsung Reality Family Locator Member Application will be launching this month.
I look forward to seeing the Family Locator Member Application on smart phones this year.
