Very slow data if any at all

After much bugging, I finally switched to the new Unlimited data plan.   Whereas before, I told everyone with other carriers that they should switch to Verizon, now I have to steer them away.   Very unreliable internet service.  As an Uber / Lyft driver, it is critical that I have data connection all around the city, which I did just perfectly right up until I switched to the Unlimited plan.  Now, my data disappears completely which prevents me from being able to work.   I put my trust in Verizon as "being the best" and now I'm in a position that my livelihood is in jeopardy.  I will be switching to another service as fast as I can.

how much data you use now ? assuming you  know restriction or details  of VZW unlimited plan

I don't use much.  I don't stream video or music.   Just Facebook and some browsing.  I used about 2.2 gigs last month.  Even if I go over whatever their "cap" is, it shouldn't throttle me to zero and make the phone unusable.

I have the same problem. Data has definitely slowed to a crawl since I replaced my phone. Verizon claims I have the same plan as the original unlimited but I don't think so. Verizon is giving the same responses, to the same questions. Looks like the only way we are going to get a proper answer to the slow data problem under the new unlimited plan, is when someone brings a class-action lawsuit. These big companies love court conflicts. Verizon would rather take our cash, reduce services, pay out large sums to lawyers - only to give us a $1.00 credit and a new plan that would bring us back to the same level we had before we complained about the data issues we are having. Twisted!

Verizon told me they have the same service level as the other cell phone companies. Problem with that is: the other cell phone companies don't charge $20 in taxes and fees and the plans cost lower.

We want to make sure you have the best data speeds available. Let's find a solution. Do you notice the slow speeds in a certain area or time of day? Are others having the same issue?

No certain time of day.   This happens around the clock.   I'm working from 7 am to 11 am and data is spotty and slow.  I'm working again from 7 pm to 12 pm or later and data is slow and spotty then as well.   I've also noticed data to be slow at other times throughout the day.

If you are consistently using only 2-3 GB per month, why are you on an unlimited plan?  The Medium, 4GB plan at $50, with carryover and safety mode, should be more than adequate, and no worries about throttling or slowdowns.  We have 3 of us on the 4GB plan, and it works just fine.

I was on the 8gb plan which was usually plenty with 2 phones but we often got very close.   Now we have 4 phones, and it was cheaper to do the unlimited plan than to increase data more.

ADPW1980, it is strange to me that you are having data issues with using the data amounts that you mentioned. Does this happen all over or only in a certain location? Please provide some additional details.

Are you on the Go Unlimited or the Beyond Unlimited?  That WILL make a difference in your speeds.  Go Unlimited costs less for a reason ...
