Corporations exist to make a profit for their shareholders, period. To do this, they have to sell a product at a price that will attract and maintain customers over the long term. Many industries offer special incentives to new customers to entice them to switch from another provider. Once you are a customer, they rely on their product, price, and perceived value to keep you. There is nothing "sad" about this, it's simple business. Some of you are trying to attach some sort of emotional element to this. Forget that. If you believe Verizon is no longer worth the price, stop crying and move on.

Agreed, but I also remember when they didn't always think that way.

The only sad part is that the only numbers that usually count are the "New Subscribers" that companies report about.

No, it's all about profits. They grow profits by increasing prices, adding new customers, and reducing costs. Obviously, Verizon is doing a great job even though a handful of customers don't like what's going on and come here to gripe about it.
