Verizon doesn't care about customers

Did you sign up for Verizon because of their unlimited data plan? Or for their "great customer support"? Well, truth is, Verizon Wireless does not care about their customers at all. My daughter recently had to buy a new phone because her current Verizon phone was a piece of junk and they would not fix it. She decided to purchase an iPhone. I have been a Verizon customer forever twenty years but that apparently means nothing. When she bought her new phone, they had her sign a new contract for the continued service. What they didn't tell her was that, unlike the past, she now would be charged $30.00 to change phones (even though she waited the two years and signed a new contract) and they would be changing her data plan, taking away her unlimited data. We did not find this out until getting an alert that she had used have her data allowance (which we never got before as we had unlimited data). I immediately called Verizon to straighten this out. They have since admitted to me that after offering the unlimited data plan, everyone started using it and Verizon then realized that they could have charged for the data, and so have decided to start doing so. Basically, they hooked us all in with the promise of unlimited data and now that we are used to it, they are taking it away and charging us for it. So be ready; as soon as you "upgrade" your phone (which according to Verizon means ANY change to your phone, even if your phone breaks and you buy the exact same one) you will be forced to change your plan and now pay more for the data you are using. They refuse to give the plan back, saying it's not in the system anymore (yet its on all my other phones). I have been hung up on, told I would be called back (only to never hear from them) and been made to feel like my business means nothing to them. When I told them I was considering canceling all my accounts (including my home phone, Internet, cell phones, tv and business accounts, totaling around $15,000.00 a year) and switching to another provider, their response was, "Oh well, we'll miss you, but we're not going to do anything to fix this. You either accept the new plans or leave." Over twenty years of customer loyalty and they told me they didn't care. That's Verizon. AT&T has the same share everything plan Verizon is forcing everyone to take with them. And I bet they treat their customers a whole lot better. I'll soon find out.

I am dreading my next ''upgrade", I know they will pull the same greedy scam with me.  It is no brainer to go at&t at this point. Especially since Verizon won't carry the best new phones like samsungs note2. All they offer is LG junk

Both the upgrade fee and the loss of unlimited data with subsidized upgrades are official VZW policy and were publicized in the news and with press releases. What do you want VZW to do? If you go to AT&T, none of your lines will have unlimited data and the upgrade fee is $36.

Verizon began charging The $30 upgrade fee in April.  They were one of the last providers to do so.  They revamped their pricing plans on 6/28 after months of well publicised announcements.  All of the old plans are still available for existing customers.  Only new customers must choose the new Share Everything plan.  Verizon does want to eliminate unlimited data.  However, customers who already have unlimited data can keep it if they pay full retail price for their phone, purchase a phone somewhere else, or keep their existing phone.

"Greedy scam"

Greed is considered a "selfish and excessive desire for more of something than is needed" and a scam is an attempted swindling by means of trickery. Of the latter, Verizon Wireless has made it clear from the get-go that there would be a $30 upgrade fee and never hid this (in fact, it was everywhere from tech sites to Yahoo). Of the former, "greed" would imply that they are not using the money for improvements, wages, expansions, and whathaveyou, but merely storing and stockpiling; this is a bad assessment. While I do not like the upgrade fee and the fact that I have had to pay for it twice or even the fact that I would lose my unlimited data the next time I upgrade, I cannot believe, even for a moment, that they have been anything but direct about their intent to cause these things to occur.

As for the phones, look at the SIII or the new Razr line-up they just released. The Note is like the Hummers of the cell phone world - they are only symbols of excess and pomp.

A corporation is incapable of feeling one thing or another in the first place. Verizon cannot be held guilty of not "caring" when it is impossible for an actual corporate entity to care.

I BEG TO DIFFER THE FOLLOWING IS THE DEFINITION OF GREEDY SCAM! i can tell you a disadvantage of using verizon period. mifi ... i paid 175 for a device and 90 for 10 gb... withinN three days they say i used it all! i downloaded 10 episodes of dexter.. low res,,, less tha 50 minutes each.???????? so like a da i bought another 10 gb for 90 ... within six days of 1 hour day surfing the net. no facebook, no social apps at all, no streaming video or downloads... i have used 5 gb of data. i am looking at having dropped almost $400 in less than a month. this is not possible

I hardly think that the Note is a symbol of excess and pomp. The Note offers a larger screen for those that have bad vision and even for those that don't, the Note offers a browsing experience where less scrolling is necessary.  Games are played easier on the larger screen.  The HD viewing quality for video is superb.

The Note also offers business and personal features that no other phone offers in that you can write on it and save your notes or email them to another party.

Just because you don't like the Note doesn't mean that it's a symbol of excess and pomp.  I'm sure that someone who has a phone that's not as good as the one that you have could say the same about your phone.
