It is important... So if you use it as a house phone... Then why don't you get a house phone? $10 a month in 99% of the country... So please explain all the hoopla to justify the want.

I don't see any reason why anyone should have to justify having a cell phone. We all have cell phones for different reasons and that's not the discussion on this forum. What is the discussion is the increase in prices.
What should be justified is the necessity for price increases (25% increase if I were to switch to this new plan) when the wireless phone companies are making record profits, the CEOs and executives are making million dollar bonuses, and American call center jobs are being shipped overseas to other countries when people are having a hard enough time trying to find jobs in the first place.

well that is you that is not everybody else people may need a cellphone for other circumstances some may want a cellphone (like you said) but for special reasons which some have very good coverage with these prepaid companies and use them so they don't have to pay high prices and that's there right to do so just like it's my right to have cellphone service with Verizon and it's my right to complain when they pull a stupid move like with these new plans there trying to force on us if and when we either want or need to upgrade. and before you say they aren't forcing us on to them we have a choice I know this we have a choice of getting screwed into these horrible plans.... or getting screwed into getting ripped of by paying $30 for 2 gbs or paying $600 we don't have for a new phone

I am trying to get you guys to see something... you guys are trying to validate a WANT as a need. Cell phones are a luxury. If you don't agree with the luxury pricing move on. It isn't going to hurt or kill you.

it doesn't matter what we're justifying If people don't complain then we just simply let people walk all over and screw us every chance they get and that is what is happening we're getting screwed... not only are we getting screwed but were getting blackmailed into getting screwed "if you want to keep your unlimited data buy a $600 phone otherwise you will lose your unlimited data and have 2 options use our rediculous prices or pay $30 for 2gbs which both options is going to screw you" that's blackmail

again, this time louder. YOU DO DON HAVE TO CHANGE TO THE SHARE EVERYTHING PLAN, is just an option for those that may choose it.
And if you want to to a subsidized upgrade and keep your Family Share, along with having 2GB of data per smartphone, you can still do that.... They will not take that away from you.
I do hope you're kidding when you say "along with having 2GB of data per smartphone, you can still do that..... They will not take that away from you." because seriously NOBODY in there right mind wants there "$30" unlimited data plan limited to a measly 2GB as I told the VZW rep on the phone yesterday I'm not paying $30 for a lousy 2GB that's a rip off the most I'd pay for 2GB is $5 because considering how small a GB truly is THAT is more than it's really worth
I have seen reports that say 95% of all smartphone users use less than 2GB of data every month...

One thing you have to consider is that not everyone in these forums has unlimited data.. There are a bunch that have been living on 2GB per month since they did away with that option a while ago. For those people, they will be able to subsidize and get their phones for the same lower price as they have.
I am looking at it also from the side that Verizon has not yet come out and told you that you cannot have unlimited anymore when you are out of contract (which they may at some point.) As long as I get to keep it, I am going to enjoy it.

I am pointing out YOU are screwing YOURSELF trying to justify a WANT as a NEED. The way to get what you WANT is to walk away and not pay for service that you do not agree with. If 10M+ people did this it would force Verizon to reivaluate. Sprint almost went out of business before their current changes and still on the brink.
