Verizon Customer Service made false represenations billing me over $600.00

I have been a Verizon customer in good standing for over a year.  When Verizon offered me the "loyalty" account, I added a line for my disabled son.  His friends have an Iphone, since he is disabled I got him the Iphone advertised for $0.01.  I contacted Verizon online and ordered the phone.  Once my son got the phone, since the phone was one cent, I decided to buy one because I don't know how to use an I phone.  The rep on the second phone pitched accessories and told me I could return them after 30 days. After repeatedly telling him NO, I finally told him to send it and I would return it.  Then I was  I was advised that in California you have to pay taxes on the ORIGINAL amount of the phone which has varied from $200 to $500 depending on which customer Service Rep you speak with.  So with TAXES the phone is about $40.00.  Then they added some other charges that make the phone worth $80.00.  Bottomline I ended up with a bill of over $600.00.  I was told they would EMAIL a return label because I could NOT access the order or the details of the order on the my Verizon website.  When I did not receive the email I called again and I was told the RETURN LABEL would be sent in the mail.

Two days ago a representative of Verizon said they were sending me a return label for the accessories and the Iphones and I had 6 days from two days ago to send them back.  Yesterday the phones would not connect to the internet, so I called again.  We got the phones working.  The rep refunded the $12.96 Federal Express Charges and told me to take the equipment to a local store to return the times since the label may not arrive before the 6 days expire.  The rep who gave me the Fed Ex Credit gave me the address in Brentwood/Antioch California Corporate office so I went there yesterday.

I go to the store there is NO evidence that any return labels were sent and there it NO notation that they were going to accept the items back and credit my account.  Instead the account is noted ONLY that the items expired after 14 days.  I was INFURIATED.  I called the Customer support line and THIS representative attempted to convince me that if I go to WALMART I will get TAXED on the original price of the phone not the sale price.  Then she told me I could sell the stuff to my friends.  I don't know WHO or what level of IDIOTS Verizon hires for customer service, but this response was unacceptable, unprofessional and inappropriate. She then REFUSED to give me a Supervisor.

Upon review of my bill, for BOTH iphones there is NO evidence of $30 in TAXES for each phone. The TOTAL taxes is under $2.00. I want these bogus "taxes" removed from the bill and/or the bill revised reflecting ALL TAXES I am paying on my account.  I want Verizon to take back these EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED ACCESSORIES that I was told I had 30 days to return due to a special deal.  That will result in a credit of about $250.00 that should put the account where it should be.  I decided not to return the Iphones, just the accessories that have NOT been used.

I am not happy they are paired with Comcast who everytime they send your bill out the SLOW YOUR INTERNET ACCESS TO A CRAWL, Xfinity is the slowest internet service EVER. Dialup is faster.   I pay EARLY every month, and still receive subpar service.  These to companies joining make me feel like bad faith practices will continue and I for one am sick and tired of it.

These issues need to be addressed and resolved before the next billing cycle or I will have to seek relief in a court of law.  Disgusted. Leslie (removed)

First and foremost, Verizon doesn't control what California taxes. You would need to take that up with your state government.

Secondly, there are upgrade fees of $30 per line. These were instated nearly two years ago.

Third, and probably most important, you should contact Verizon by phone, as this is mostly a customer-to-customer forum. It's very rare that Verizon representatives here will actually solve your issue.

Hi Blaqrubi!

I'd love to get to the bottom of this for you and find a resolution. I'd have to review your account, though. I've followed you in the forums. Please accept me, and follow me back. Then, send me a Direct Message and we can get started.

Again Lucas, if you are not a representative of Verizon customer support and are not in position to advise me and your comment are NOT helpful.  If Verizon Support does not come here then they need to be MORE AVAILABLE and ACCESSABLE to their clients.  I came here as a last resort and really resent the comments of individual PAID to be insensitive and make ridiculous comments.  (removed)

Ok If you sent me an invitation on Twitter I will do that.  I tried to send you a message but it did not work.  I am going to bed now but I will add you on Twitter in the morning.  Thank you for responding, it is SO FRUSTRATING trying to get REAL help from a bonafide representative of Verizon. Thanks so much Christina, until tomorrow.

Verizon should either get rid of this customer based forum where you have nothing but (removed) or monitor and screen comments. (removed)

No, they sent you a follow request in the Verizon Wireless Community forum. There will be a Connection Updates in your forum inbox. You have to accept they follow request and send one to them in return. The rep has to accept your follow request and then you can send the rep a private Direct Message through the community.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
