VZW changed plan - took away ulmt data - fabricated notes - liars & crooks

Verizon Wireless changed my calling plan 14 days ago without my permission and didn't inform me or even update my account screen to show the change until today (14 days later!!!!). They also took away my unlimited data plan. Here is the best part...there is a note on my account that says I was informed by a cust serve rep that I would lose my unlimited data plan and would not be able to get it back... AND I AGREED TO THAT! What are these people nuts?

So what's the big deal as I'm still in the 14 day period you may ask? Well VZW is not honoring the 14 day guarantee policy. They reverted me back to my old unlimited talk & text plan, but their computers no longer give them the option of reverting back to unlimited data. They did say they will send a special request, which will take a week or so to get a reply to, and then see if I get the data back. Bet I know what the answer will be.

Here is what VZW did:

1. Changed my plan without permission.

2. Fabricated a bogus note on my account that says I agreed to remove the unlimited data plan and never get it back. BTW I don't drink or do drugs.

3. Won't honor the 14 day guarantee due to, um, computers.

This company is so blatantly crooked it's unreal.

So I hope Dan Mead and someone high up in VZW customer service is reading this, because here is what I'm going to do.  <<Comment removed to comply with >>

1. I'm filing a complaint with the FCC.

2. I'm meeting with my state Rep and Senator's offices next week to discuss this.

3. I'm filing a complaint with my state's consumer protection agency which requires an arbitration.

4. I'm going to continue using as much data as I want (usually 20GB/month) and I'm not going to pay for it. Overcharges will be deducted from my payment.

5. If item #3 goes nowhere I'm filing a case in my county small claims court to get a court order for VZW to honor the 14 day policy and get my unlimited data plan back.

Anyone reading this should be aware of how crooked this company is. How they can pull a sham like this is beyond me.

I had an issue with them saying I agreed to pay my account earlier than i normaly do. they then changed my account so i can no longer charge in the store. after and hour and thirty seven minutes on the phone with them about this issue I was told the reason this happened was because i had a returned payment. EVEN though my pyment was replaced before they even knew it was returned because of a mistake my bank made so they resent the payment. Never did they address the issue about me NEVER agreeing to paying my account earlier than i normal do.

I've been with VZW for now 20 years and they have pulled these tricks on me too.

Anytime you call VZW when you hear the recording "this call may be recorded for..." you must say "I will be recording this conversation for quality, training and documentation purposes."  Always record every phone conversation to document what takes place.  It's very sad to see VZW treat everyone so poorly, however when you need to, just play the recording back for them.  This should correct the issues once they know you mean business.

I had a problem with a verizon phone. Took it in to various corporate stores over 10 times and they always fiddled with it and told me they had "fixed" the problem. Once they finally sent me a new battery, otherwise they were worse than useless, as I must have spent the equivalent of a day of my life in verizon stores trying to get a consistently working phone. All under warranty. It still wasn't working right when it neared the 1-yr. warranty mark, so I took it in again the last week of warranty. I had the original proof with me for when it was activated. The rep and then the "acting" store manager refused to honor the warranty and would not even look at my phone, even with the very long track record of complaints, because they said the date I got the phone was 3 weeks earlier than it really was, so they said the phone had gone out of warranty THE DAY BEFORE.  The acting store manager (who was about 40 years younger than me) - in front of several other customers - accused me of lying and forging the original receipts! One customer who had heard the conversation was so appalled at how I was treated that she turned around and left the store without buying anything.

How much lower can you get?????

Here is what VZW did:

1. Changed my plan without permission.I highly doubt the would just pull up a random persons account and change the plan. You had to have made some change to the account.

2. Fabricated a bogus note on my account that says I agreed to remove the unlimited data plan and never get it back. BTW I don't drink or do drugs.

3. Won't honor the 14 day guarantee due to, um, computers.

So I hope Dan Mead and someone high up in VZW customer service is reading this, because here is what I'm going to do. High up Verizon employees do not check the community forums, so none of them are reading it.....nor would they care.

1. I'm filing a complaint with the FCC.I would say in your situation, the BBB would be more suited for the complaint.

2. I'm meeting with my state Rep and Senator's offices next week to discuss this.So they are meeting with you to discuss problems you are having with your cell phone plan???

3. I'm filing a complaint with my state's consumer protection agency which requires an arbitration.

4. I'm going to continue using as much data as I want (usually 20GB/month) and I'm not going to pay for it. Overcharges will be deducted from my payment. You know you are on a tiered data plan, and are well aware of overage charges. They will not credit overage charges that you are WELL aware that you would obtain. I understand you still want to use as much data as you want but that is not the way to handle it and would be a long shot to say the least to get them to remove the overage charges.

5. If item #3 goes nowhere I'm filing a case in my county small claims court to get a court order for VZW to honor the 14 day policy and get my unlimited data plan back. Good luck to you

What changes did you make to the account? Did you buy a device at a subsidized price? Did you do an AOL?

Not applicable

I am reading it looks like a cell phone purchase under subsidy.

However the Worry Free Guarantee would be in effect. all should have been reverted back as if the person never had the phone.

He/she has a valid complaint. I see so little of them here that are actually valid.

Good Luck
