Upgrading service - data, navigator

I am upgrading phone service and require data service.  I also would like to use LZ Navigator.  Is 25 MB usually plenty of data for an average user?  Also, is navigator a separate service or does it fall under "data"?  Thanks

It may be more cost effective to look a the Premium Plan instead of adding things a la carte style. Premium includes VZNav, Mobile Email, unlimited data, VCast, unlimited text messages...it's $40 more than a basic single line plan. If you were on a basic plan and added the 25 MB plan for $19.99 and VZNaz $9.99, you're already spending $30 and that doesn't giving any text messages and your data is limited(well unless you want overages). And if you have an employee discount all these "extras" are on the cost of plan so you end up getting a discount on these services as well.

What plan are you on currently?

You're gonna pay $9.99/month for VZ Nav. So if you're gonna get VZ Nav and $9.99 for 25MB of data for $9.99 then you might be better off paying for the Premium plan. If you're already on a Select plan then the Premium plan is only $20 more and it gives you unlimited data, VZ Nav and the Mobile Email subscription.

Currently on a family plan (select).  Trying to figure out if I should go with the LG Touch and upgrade the plan or something like the Driod and go for the data and use Google map for navigation.  I'm listening for suggestions.

Also have Family Plan and use the LG Versa. With a $9.99 data plan for 25MB it would very difficult to actually use that must data unless your cruising the internet every day and this would be masochistic on a handheld. Added Navigator recently for $9.99/month and it works great. Good internet connectivity and Navigator is very nice for finding traffic congestion and local searches (pizza, starbucks, movies, etc.) its very handy to have search results phone numbers pop up for easy dialing. A total trip saver on our recent vacation to Palm Springs and only $20.00 above the normal family plan fee.

You don't need to add a data plan if all you are going to use is VZ Navigator.  The $9.99 subscription or the $2.99 daily download includes the data transport when using VZ Nav to download directions or local searches. You will only be charged for MB usage of $1.99 once to download VZ Nav. Since the size of this app is 1.65 MB to download, rounded to the next whole MB of 2, you will see a $3.98 usage charge to download.
