Upgrade Time

My contract with Verizon is up. I am now able to either upgrade or change carriers. I am currently grandfathered into a plan that includes unlimited data. Can I upgrade and get a new Samsung Galaxy S IV and keep my unlimited data or do I need to switch to T-Mobile? Those are the only two options.

You can keep your unlimited data plan only if you purchase the phone at full retail price.

If you go the two year contract route, the data plan will be changed to the individual 2 GB tiered data plan.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Which isn't an option for me. So looks my family and I will be switching to T-Mobile in order to keep our unlimited data.

Hi TheAngelB,

Upgrading to a new phone is always a reason to be happy! Upgrading at a subsidized price will require to change your data plan. See number 2 at this link http://vz.to/NcXYGp for data options. How much data do you and your family use each month? Login at this link http://www.vzw.com/accountanalysis to do a plan analysis and determine your monthly data needs. Then review our Share Everything plan options online http://bit.ly/T8w8iM Many customers are saving money each month with the Share Everything plan and the correct data plan for their particular date needs. If you must keep unlimited data, you have the option to upgrade a full price and you may even qualify for the device payment program http://vz.to/ZILXBT so you don't have a big upfront expense.
