Unlimited Data line transfer

I appreciate your help in advance...

I am on a NATIONWIDE TALK SHARE plan that only has one smartphone line that has unlimited data. The unlimited line is the main line and is is due for an upgrade in April. There is also another smart phone line and dumb phone line that aren't due for an upgrade anytime soon.

My understanding is the only way to stay unlimited on the main line is to buy a phone at full retail price and activate it on the main line (or use another lines upgrade which I don't have anytime soon). I am fine with buying a phone at retail now and activating but my question is when the upgrade is up for the unlimited line in April will I be able to transfer the upgrade discount to a different line?

Also if I am able to transfer it to a different line will I be able to keep the same plan I have now?

Unfortunately not, the upgrade is not transferrable. People will use the upgrade on the eligible line and transfer the new discounted phone to the secondary line.  With that said, if you did that you would be extending the contract on the primary line with the unlimited, thus removing your unlimited data

Thank you...what about the plan itself? I now understand the data will be gone but will the plan stay? My rate now is better than current plans.

You can stay on the Nationwide plan when you upgrade the line, yes.  If you do use the upgrade in April, you will lose the unlimited, and be switched to a 2 GB tiered plan at $30 (a penny difference), but you can stay on the Nationwide plan with whatever bucket of minutes you have and the individual data plan per line for each smartphone.
