Under net Access

My question should have been clearer, ' why is Verizon suddenly blocking access to the Undernet servers when using my MiFi hotspot for internet access when traveling?'

You are not the only one wanting Verizon's input on this matter, along with a cessation of this practice and unconditional restoration of access to these servers. Do a google search on verizon blocking irc and you will find many threads on this issue, though none give a definitive answer or any admission from Verizon that they are indeed blocking Undernet server access. Substituting any other carrier in the search pulls up nothing, suggesting that this policy is peculiar to Verizon.

I had been more or less successfully connecting to these servers for a good 3.5 years over 2 phones but as of August or so access via AndChat IRC client on my phone had given me progressively less access until eventually all Undernet servers were blocked out. Now the funny thing is, all the time Undernet WAS working, EFNet connection access would give "No Route to Host." But as of about 3 Fridays ago a server is coming up pretty as you please. FreeNode seems to be stable and working fine.

So I really don't know why Verizon is waging a war on Undernet over their network, but I would like it stopped and access restored. I went into a T-Mobile store slapped AndChat on a Galaxy S4 demo and irc.undernet.org sent me to the os Angeles server just fine So again, I put the blame on Verizon for whatever arcane reason they have for blocking it, in what I believe to be violations of FCC neutrality rules. Needless to say, this has me mad enough to seriously think off switching carriers possibly before contract end.
